Toolbar icons

The standard for Windows toolbar icons is 16 x 15 pixels. Icons that display within tables or lists are usually smaller, such as 14 x 13 pixels, to allow more space between the images.

Application icons

First the final version of the smaller, 16 x 16 pixel application icon is produced, and then the 32 x 32 pixel version. This ensures that the smaller image has the correct amount of detail.
